Art classes and painting workshops in Barcelona and across Catalonia, each one taught by an artist who works in what they teach. Some run in a studio in the city, some over video from wherever you are, and one or two mix the two across a term.
Language is a practical decision here. A workshop might run in Catalan, in Spanish or in English, and it sometimes shifts depending on who sits down that afternoon, which is why the language is on the listing before anything else. In a city with this many people who arrived from elsewhere, which language a correction gets explained in stops being a small detail.
Signing up does not happen here. The class points at the profile of whoever teaches it, with their own email and phone, and you write to them from there. What is on the listing is dates, how long a session runs, the language, the number of places and a price, or none where the artist would rather talk it over. Filter by format, discipline, city and language.
In a city with art and design schools that go back decades, a good deal of the useful teaching happens outside them: one artist, one room, six people and an afternoon a week. What is worth checking is what that person makes when they are not teaching, and their portfolio sits on the same profile, one click from the class.
