Paintings out of studios in Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia, posted one piece at a time by the painter. Oil and acrylic on canvas, watercolour and gouache on paper, prepared board and mixed media, with the year, the size and the support in the caption under each image.
Open a piece and it fills the screen at whatever size the file allows, with detail crops beside it if the painter uploaded them. Some add a short video of the surface under raking light, or a few paragraphs on how a difficult passage was resolved. Preparatory studies usually sit next to the finished canvas, each one dated.
None of these pages asks you to register. From any work you can open the artist page of the painter who made it, find the email, phone or website they published, and write to them yourself. Putting your own painting up costs nothing either, and the page it gets is the one you are reading now.
Coastal light and industrial studio space both leave marks on what gets made here, Poblenou above all: large formats where there is ceiling height, small work on paper where a room is shared between three or four people. Captions turn up in Catalan, in Spanish or in English, whichever the painter writes in, and mixed media appears more often than you would expect.
