Music Recorded by Barcelona Musicians

What musicians in Barcelona and across Catalonia have actually recorded, track by track: studio work, live sets, compositions and half finished demos. Each file is posted by the artist who made it, with their own note attached, and plays here or from the player they already use.

The material comes from very different rooms in the city. A shared rehearsal space in Poblenou, a soundproofed bedroom in Hospitalet, a gig taped in a small jazz club, a rumba session cut with two microphones and one guitar. Some mixes are finished to the millimetre and some are left exactly as they came out.

Listening is open to anyone. What an account adds is following: when a band puts something out, it reaches you on the day they posted it rather than when some system decides. For a gig, a collaboration, or a question about who played bass on a track, the email and phone number are on the artist's page.

Files arrive as uploaded audio, as a SoundCloud or Spotify embed, or as video when seeing the room is the point, and the entry lists who played and when it was recorded. People here sing in Catalan, in Spanish and in English, and which one a lyric is in tells you where a piece comes from as much as the style does.
