Barcelona Choreography and Dance Video

Dance works filmed in Barcelona and across Catalonia, put up one piece at a time by the people who danced and made them. Full performance recordings, two-minute rehearsal studies, and screendance built for the camera rather than a stage. Every work links back to its author's page.

Most of it is video, uploaded or embedded from YouTube and Vimeo, with the information a recording leaves out: cast, lighting, running time, what the piece is about. Sound usually arrives separately, as an audio file or a SoundCloud embed. Performance photography and written notes sit alongside, which matters when three nights left nothing but stills.

Each work leads back to the artist page of whoever posted it and to the contact details they made public: email, phone, WhatsApp, a website. With companies working in short seasons that direct route is the only reliable one, since a piece opens, tours for a few weeks and comes off before word of it reaches anywhere. Watching asks nothing.

Catalan pieces often run for a few nights and are never staged again, so the video archive is what survives. You can see that in how it is shot: a fixed wide from the stalls to keep the floor patterns, a tight cut for auditions and touring. Flamenco, contemporary and urban dance sit side by side, frequently made by the same people in different years.
