Animation in Barcelona: 2D, 3D, stop motion

Animation made in Barcelona and across Catalonia: short films, loops, title sequences, music videos and idents in 2D, 3D, stop motion and motion graphics. Each piece plays on its own page, posted by the animator, with the technique, the year and a link through to the whole portfolio.

What ends up here is mostly commissioned work with a stubborn streak running under it. Series episodes and advertising pay the rent on the Poblenou studios; personal shorts get made at night and at weekends, sometimes across three years. Stop motion is a minority practice and it shows, because it needs a table, fixed light and a room nobody else walks into.

Under each piece is the artist page of whoever made it, with their email and their links, so a question about a technique or about a commission goes straight to that person. Watching is open to anyone, and putting your own work up costs nothing: what you get is this same kind of page, with the year, the technique and a route to the portfolio.

Captions tell you where a piece came from. A title sequence with Catalan lettering usually comes from a production company here; a silent shot with a studio name on the last frame is usually work for a client somewhere else. Listings run in Catalan and Spanish, and the description is written by the person who animated it.
