The Trail of the Fireflies

The Path of the Fireflies, is a series of large-format paintings that reflects on the transmission of knowledge and the continuity of artistic tradition. Its title draws on the image of fireflies: small lights that appear in the darkness and, without fully illuminating the path, allow one to find one’s way and move forward. Each generation receives fragments of experience, intuitions, gestures, and ways of seeing that have been passed down by those who came before. Just as a firefly leaves a brief trail of light before disappearing, the painting preserves traces of a collective memory that spans time and reappears, transformed, in each new creator. The works do not depict a specific narrative, but rather a landscape of traces, apparitions, and correspondences where tradition and renewal coexist. The pictorial surface thus becomes a meeting place between past and present, between what is inherited and what remains to be discovered.
